Next Exhibition

I have 5 months to put together my second exhibition. This time I’ll be travelling across Bass Strait to Melbourne… Very exciting! I have had a billion ideas running through my head for it and I was getting frustrated with how to pull off something complicated and not even sure if I could push myself that much! So I looked around my own backyard in Bicheno and around a very sentimental place to me; Bruny Island. And of course I found plenty to be excited about and it was all very familiar to me!

So, no title as yet but I will be delving into some fun mixed media, with felt as the focus…

Here are some pics from our recent trip to the shack at Dennes Point, Bruny Island

At the moment I have some of the clay earrings and feather pieces listed. There will be packs of handmade cards (3 or 5 in each pack) and felt coming soon…

I will be updating the shop constantly… This is all new to me so thanks for your patience and support…

At Limerence…

Here is a 2m wool and silk scarf on display at Limerence that I made with a Tasmanian Blackwood brooch with loads of different silks and antique doily, plus a selection of neck wamers and clay vintage button earrings and a doily cord necklace. I don’t often get to see what my pieces look like on display and am so thrilled that Limerence have taken me on in their incredible gallery situated in the stunning Belgrave.

shop shop shop!

I am just in the final stages of launching my online shop. This is all so new to me, I’m very good at the other end of shopping so bare with me as I teethe my way through the process.

A good friend of mine and amazing artist told me photos were the key to a good online shop presence. So with that in mind, today will be a photo session with my jewellery and cards.

Please, if there is anything you like in my shop and would prefer another colour that’s not listed, please let me know. It can always be arranged!

A Night and Day at The Apron Design Market

I had a blast at The Apron Design Market in Seaport, Launceston ( Despite the cold weather, market-goers rugged up and braved the conditions to see some of Tassies finest designers and artisans. I walked away feeling really inspired and have been writing and scribbling more ideas for the next market!  A small break (maybe a day or two) before I get back to felting!

Here are some pictures of my first market stall. I had a space of 1.5m by 3m to work with. If given this sort of space again, I would have really taken advantage of using the height I had. Felted pieces lends itself to be draped and showcased more than this presentation. But hey, it was my first go and I was happy with it and I’m so new to the whole market scene. Hubby and I spent the drive home from Launceston brain storming ideas on display options. We concluded a mannequin/torso is essential and some more “necks” to show off the pieces…
