Q: Do you do custom orders?

Due to a change in direction, I have had to close off custom orders. We have loved making them and I appreciate the opportunity to have made lots of enjoyable, sentimental pieces for you. I always want to say yes yes yes and wish I could continue making them but unfortunately it is not possible.

Q: Does Nanna Woo Handmade use Eco-friendly products?

A: Yes! I love doing my best to reduce my footprint on our precious planet as I'm sure you do too! I currently use bio-based resin which is manufactured in the U.S. To quote Entropy... "By employing green chemistry techniques that require less energy and produce less harmful byproducts, we reduce the greenhouse gas emissions from production of our epoxies by 33% over conventional petroleum-based epoxies." and "We replace petroleum-based carbon with renewable plant-based carbon. The raw materials going into our epoxy resins and hardeners are co-products or waste products of other industrially important processes. These materials do not compete with food sources or displace food-based agriculture. Using an international standard method of radiocarbon dating, we verify the renewable content of our products so you know exactly where they come from."

I re-use all of my mixing tools. Wooden mixing sticks get wiped down and reused again and again, mixing cups are the same.

In relation to my fibre works, some of the silk I use is a waste product, off cuts and the wool itself is purchased directly from Australian wool makers, or I've traded with locals for it from their farms.

My business cards are printed on recycled paper (it's the small things right?).

Q. Where do you make your pieces?

A. Everything is made in Tasmania by Hanna. It is made in our smoke free home and sometimes there are some small imperfections in each piece but it in no way affects the integrity of the piece. I mix and hand pour everything and see it through its entire process to deliver a pure handcrafted object.

All the jewellery is hand sanded and the homewares are machine sanded. There is no middle person involved, it is just me.

Q: Do you offer your items wholesale?

A: I sure do, just email me for wholesale price-list, you must be a retailer to buy wholesale and your store will need to be verified and approved for a good match. We currently only offer jewellery for wholesale.

Q: Where does the name 'Nanna Woo' come from?

A: My nickname from my younger years was Nanna Hanna as I loved an early night (8pm was ideal) with a cuppa. Woo is the first part of my last name Woolley.
